The Higher Education Funding Council for England has recently produced 3 guides:

(1) Measuring Scope 3 carbon emissions: water and waste - a guide to good practice

(2) Measuring Scope 3 carbon emissions: transport - a guide to good practice

(3) Research reports - Measuring scope 3 carbon emissions - supply chain (procurement), water, waste and transport.

Scope 3 emissions are indirect emissions that organisations produce through their activities, but occur from sources not owned or controlled by the organisation. Examples include commuting, supply chain procurement, waste and water.
