The tool provides a step by step template to easily calculate the estimated monetary value (Net Present Value) of the air quality impacts of a tested policy. The tool uses the methodology as set out in the IGCB Damage Cost Guidance Paper.

The tool is intended to be used for policies with cost-benefit appraisal periods of less than 20 years and where the total air quality impact is less than £20 million. The tool uses Monte-Carlo analysis risk-modelling technique to derive the best estimates of damage costs.
This tool can be used to engage with decision makers to obtain buy-in.
